The 68th Annual Diagnostic Slide Session will be held during the AANP 103rd Annual Meeting in Renton, WA, on Saturday, June 12th, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. The deadline to submit cases for consideration is January 8th, 2027.

A message from Dr. Camelo-Piragua

Thank you for your interest in contributing and participating in the Diagnostic Slide Session. All members of the association are eligible to submit cases for consideration to be included in next year’s program.

Encourage your trainees to present. Presenters who are trainees are eligible to compete for DSS awards.

Send cases between November 1 and January 8 using FedEx or UPS
Submissions should be mailed no later than January 8
Final decisions will be emailed by February 10.

Instructions

  • Prepare a PPT or PDF (<2MB) that includes:
    • Clinical history
    • Pertinent radiology, histopathology, and ancillary studies
    • Questions to the audience
    • Points of discussion for the conference
  • Email Dr. Camelo-Piragua ([email protected]) with your presentation and an electronic copy of your DSS Submission Face Sheet
  • Subject line of your email: DSS-Name of your institution
  • Obtain good quality representative H&E AND 2 unstained slides of the same block to show at the AANP Annual Conference. The H&E slide should not have folds, holes, or missing pieces. Ensure the pathology you want to show is still present in the H&E slide you will submit for DSS.
  • All glass slides will be archived at AANP and will not be returned.
  • The selected cases for presentation at DSS will be available for virtual viewing on the AANP website and archived digitally for future membership access.
  • Place your slides in a taped slide container and a bubble wrap envelope.
  • Include the DSS Submission Face Sheet and any additional information you deem necessary for the case
  • Complete checklist found below
  • Mail the package to Dr. Camelo-Piragua at the address below between November 1 and January 8.

Checklist

  • E-mail sent to Dr. Camelo-Piragua ([email protected]) with a PPT or PDF (<2MB) AND electronic copy of the DSS Face Sheet
  • Package sent to Dr. Camelo-Piragua, which should include:

                  Address exactly as indicated in the instructions to mail the package (Copy from instructions)
                  DSS Submission Face Sheet completed as the first page to be seen
                  One representative H&E and two unstained slides of the same block
                 Any additional paperwork you deem essential for consideration (blackout patient information)

  • Send the tracking number (FedEx or UPS) of your package via email to Dr. Camelo-Piragua
  • Regularly check your email between November and February in case Dr. Camelo-Piragua has specific questions or requests about your case
