The 67th Annual Diagnostic Slide Session will be held during the AANP 102nd Annual Meeting in Cambridge, MD, on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. The deadline to submit cases for consideration is January 5th, 2026.

A message from Dr. Camelo-Piragua

Thank you for your interest in contributing and participating in the Diagnostic Slide Session. All members of the association are eligible to submit cases for consideration to be included in next year’s program.

Encourage your trainees to present—trainee presenters can compete for DSS awards.

Send cases between November 1 and January 5
Submission should be mailed no later than January 5
Final Decision will be emailed on or before Feb 14

Instructions

  • Prepare a PPT or PDF (<2MB) that includes:
    • Clinical history
    • Pertinent radiology, histopathology, and ancillary studies
    • Questions to the audience
    • Points of discussion for the conference
  • Email Dr. Camelo-Piragua ([email protected]) with your presentation
  • Subject line of your email: DSS-Name of your institution
  • Obtain good quality representative H&E AND 1-2 unstained slides of the same block to show at the AANP Annual Conference. The HE slide should not have folds, holes, or missing pieces. Ensure the pathology you want to show is still in that level.
  • All glass slides will be archived at AANP and will not be returned. All cases will be available for viewing virtually.
  • Place your slides in a taped slide container and a bubble wrap envelope.
  • REQUIRED: fill out the DSS Submission Face Sheet and include as the first page along with any additional information you deem necessary for the case. This is to ensure he slides get routed to Dr. Camelo-Piragua at her institution.
  • Complete checklist found below
  • Mail the package to Dr. Camelo-Piragua at the address below between November 1 and January 5.

Checklist

  • E-mail sent to Dr. Camelo-Piragua ([email protected] ) with a PPT or PDF (<2MB)
  • Package sent to Dr. Camelo-Piragua, which should include:

                  Address exactly as indicated in the instructions to mail the package (Copy from instructions)
                  DSS Submission Face Sheet completed as the first page to be seen
                  One representative H&E and one/two unstained slides of the same block
                 Any additional paperwork you deem essential for consideration (blackout patient information)

  • Keep the tracking number of your package. You can include the tracking number and via of mailing (e.g. FedEx, USPS, etc.) in the email you send to Dr. Camelo-Piragua
  • Check regularly your email between November and February in case Dr. Camelo-Piragua has specific questions or requests about your case
